HARRISBURG - In an effort to promote identity protection, Rep. Joe Kerwin (R-Dauphin) is hosting a shredder event on Saturday, June 10, from 9-11 a.m. at Houck Manor Park, 628 Walnut Ave. in West Hanover Township.
“Identity theft is a serious crime that is often overlooked,” Kerwin said. “We all need to be proactive in protecting our identities and shredding documents with personal identifying information is an important step.”
Residents of the 125th District are invited to dispose of documents with sensitive information, such as Social Security, bank account or credit card numbers. There is no charge for using the service.
Participants are reminded that only four boxes or bags of paper per household are allowed and are asked to stay in their vehicles while staff unloads the items.
The event is open to residents only; no businesses, please.
