ELIZABETHVILLE – Events hosted by the Office of Rep. Joe Kerwin this summer are designed to help Pennsylvanians protect themselves against falling victim to identity theft.
Residents of the 125th District are invited to dispose of documents safely and securely during shredding events scheduled for Saturday, June 1, and Saturday, June 8. They should plan to bring documents with sensitive information like Social Security or bank account numbers.
The industrial shredder can handle staples, but participants are asked to remove paper clips and binder clips. There is a maximum of four boxes per household.
Additionally, a pair of fraud bingo events are planned to provide information about common scams through a fun, interactive game hosted by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities.
Information about the events is as follows:

Document shredding will be available Saturday, June 1, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Houck Manor Park,
628 Walnut Ave., Harrisburg, across from Central Dauphin High School.

Document shredding will be available Saturday, June 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church,
982 Medical Road, Millersburg. This event is being held in conjunction with Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland/Dauphin/Perry).

Fraud bingo will be offered Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Millersburg Senior Center,
109 Edward Drive, Millersburg.

Fraud bingo will be offered Thursday, Aug. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Houck Manor Park,
628 Walnut Ave., Harrisburg, across from Central Dauphin High School.

Rep. Joe Kerwin (R-Dauphin) is deployed to the Horn of Africa with Task Force Paxton, 2nd Battalion, 112th Infantry of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. His Capitol and district offices remain open to provide constituent services.
