HARRISBURG – A $148,255 grant awarded today will help the nonprofit organization Greenlight Operation purchase vehicles to help transport survivors of human trafficking to appointments, including those for counseling and therapy, according to the Office of Rep. Joe Kerwin (R-Dauphin).

The Office of Rep. Joe Kerwin announced the grant, which is funded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority via slot machine gaming, not tax dollars.

Greenlight Operation combats human trafficking through educational services and assists women who have been sex trafficked by providing them with a number of restoration services. Next year, the Camp Hill-based organization intends to open a six-bed home in Dauphin County, where women can rebuild their lives in a supportive, peaceful environment.

“Adding vehicle transportation to our services will help greatly with appointments, group activities, outreach to additional survivors and even driving lessons,” said Jordan Pine, president and CEO of Greenlight Operation. “We’re thankful for Rep. Joe Kerwin’s office’s advocacy in helping to secure this grant that well positions us for the future.”
